# Networking

All the devices running *Infinity Command* connect to each other over a network. One of the devices running the app will act as the Server, and all the others will join as clients.

So far, our development and testing has focused on **local wifi networks**. Playing *Infinity Command* over the internet may be possible, but it's not our main priority.

## Network Setup

In order for your Network Server to be reachable, you may need to **allow network traffic through your operating system's firewall**. When you first [start the server](/infinity-command/getting-started/starting-a-server.md), your computer will likely display a pop-up dialog giving you this option.

It's possible (although much less likely) that you may also need to configure the firewall settings on your router. This isn't standard and varies depending on your network hardware. If you need help, feel free to [reach out to us on Discord](https://discord.gg/wmNhfUksJP).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://infinity-command.gitbook.io/infinity-command/getting-started/networking.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
